Halfway between Dijon and Beaune, between Clos de Vougeot and Nuits-St-Georges, limited to the east by national road 74, protected to the west of the vents of the Morvan by the Coast, Vosne Romanée, firmly anchored on its venerable cellars, is by its great wines, one of the most famous French viticultural communes of the whole world.
The vines spread out in the rising sun and its great appellations hurtle down beside the church to the priory of St Vivant. Some 1er cru wines line the town hall square and the appellation Vosne-Romanée embrace the rest of the country.
