Welcome to the Vineyard René Cacheux & Son

Small family farm, with 4 generations know-how, the Cacheux vineyard is located in the heart of the Vosne-Romanée village in Cote d’Or (21, Burgundy).

At the beginning of the last century, Francois Blée settled in Vosne-Romanée. His son, Charles Blée, succeeds him and increase the surface area of the field.

In 1966, the holding is divided between his two daughters. Jacqueline Blée, one of her daughters and her husband René Cacheux create the Cacheux-Blée vineyard.

In 2004, after working on other wine farms, Gerald Cacheux, their son, is their successor and now manage the René Cacheux & Son vineyard.

Vineyard Philosophy

We harvest our grapes Pinot Noir at their optimum quality in order to produce high-quality wines and terroir.

To preserve the unique and ancestral terroir, we practice integrated vineyard management methods.

The vines are pruned respecting the plant in order to master the yields for each bunch of grapes is properly exposed and nourished.

The bunch of grapes area is stripped favoring natural ventilation to not use chemicals against rotting grapes. We are ensuring a better fruit maturity, without residual in the harvest.

For over 15 years, we fight to the cluster worm by mating disruption, without insecticide to promote the existence of predatory insects that fight against harmful mites. No acaricides is used. We control a light grassing by tillage without herbicide. The balance of the flora and the fauna is then respected.

The harvest is manual, sorting is immediate, directly on the vine, the destemming is total before putting in open tanks.

The wines are vinified in a traditional way with temperature control. They are then aged in oak barrels for a period of 18 months with a percentage of new barrels which may vary, following appellations and the vintage, between 10% and 50%.
